"Creativity is contagious. Pass it on." - Albert Einstein
Hailing from the beautiful island of Tasmania, Bec spent most of her youth working hard so she could travel harder. She dipped her toe into everything from bar tending to retail, working on cruise boats to archaeology, building a varied set of skills, a solid work ethic, and an unquenchable thirst for adventure.
After completing a Bachelor of Business, Bec spent several years in media, advertising and fashion styling, before completing further studies in Interior Design & Decoration at RMIT in 2012. She launched her own design business in December of the same year and fervently kissed goodbye to the corporate 9 to 5 forever.
With an eternal sense of optimism and drive and an insatiable curiosity for the world, Bec’s long standing love affair with creating elaborately themed events and dress up parties naturally expanded into a career path. She maintains that her guiding principles in creating the right atmosphere for any environment or occasion have always been exceptional mood lighting and musical selection. When in doubt, dim the lights and turn the music up!
Taking inspiration from her travels and the people she meets along the way, Bec’s love of other cultures, history and design has led to many creative collaborations and partnerships over the years. She is a co-founder of Nathan + Jac, a curated collection of professionally styled interior design packs for home decorating, and set designer for Spooktober, Australia’s largest Halloween festival, since 2013.
Bec currently lives in Melbourne with her husband, self-taught artist, Adoni Astrinakis, and their two fluffy Ragdoll’s Dolly and Romeo. She is in her happiest and most natural state when she’s either 30,000ft in the air, getting her hands dirty arranging flowers or lying in the sunshine next to a body of water (preferably with a mango daiquiri in hand).
